Privacy policies, support and changelogs for Sawa browser extensions.
Effective date: 2 October 2026 Applies to: the RTLy browser extension, version 1.0 and its 1.0.x updates.
Summary. RTLy doesn’t collect, transmit, sell or share personal data. It works entirely inside your browser and makes no network requests.
Page text. RTLy runs only on the AI chat websites listed on its store page and in its menu (for example ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini). On those pages it reads the text of chat messages to tell whether each paragraph is written right-to-left (such as Arabic, Persian or Urdu) or left-to-right. It then sets each paragraph’s direction and alignment. This happens inside your browser. The text isn’t saved, logged or sent anywhere, and nobody, including us, can see it. RTLy doesn’t read what you type in the message box; there, it only applies styling so that each line aligns with the language you type. RTLy can’t run on any other website.
What RTLy stores. Only your settings:
They’re kept in the browser’s extension storage on your device, aren’t synced to other devices, and are deleted when you remove RTLy. RTLy never stores chat text, chat titles, page addresses or browsing history.
The current tab’s address. When you click the RTLy button, the browser lets RTLy see the address of the tab you’re on, for that click only. RTLy uses it to show whether it works on that site. If it doesn’t, RTLy uses the address to fill in the “Request this site” email with the site’s name. The address isn’t stored or sent.
No network connections. RTLy makes no network requests of its own. It has no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising or tracking. It doesn’t load code or settings from the internet: everything it uses is inside the extension.
Emails you choose to send. “Report a broken site” and “Request this site” open your own email app with a message addressed to us. The message is filled in with only:
It never includes chat text, chat titles or full page addresses. Nothing is sent unless you send it yourself.
If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write. We use it only to reply and to fix problems. We don’t share it with anyone, apart from the email service that hosts our mailbox. We delete support emails 12 months after the last reply, and sooner if you ask.
Traces on the page. While RTLy is on, it adds direction and marker attributes to the message elements of the supported websites, and removes them when you switch it off. A website could notice these attributes and infer that RTLy is installed. RTLy doesn’t send the website anything.
Third parties. RTLy shares no data with anyone, because it collects none. The add-on store you installed RTLy from may process data about your installation under its own privacy policy. We only see the totals that the store gives developers, such as the number of installs.
Children. RTLy isn’t directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.
Your choices. You can switch RTLy off for one site or everywhere, or remove it at any time; removing it deletes its settings. RTLy holds no personal data about you, so there’s nothing for us to access, correct or delete, except emails you’ve sent us. To ask about those, write to ah.sawahel+support@gmail.com.
Changes. If a future version changes how RTLy handles data (for example, by adding a connection to an online service), we’ll update this policy and its effective date before that version is released, and say so in the release notes.
